Anna Tree, REYNELL
With 20 years experience as a community activist, Anna is concerned about accessible and environmentally sustainable urban planning and considers incentives to small business to incorporate accessible universal design are long overdue. She has been a campaigner for improved public transport, better facilities for cyclists, refugees and LGBTIQ rights.
‘Living and working in South Australia is fantastic, here we have true liveability of the city and suburbs.’ ‘My own interest in disability began when, as a child, I regularly assisted a young neighbour who was born with an intellectual disability. This experience, along with having family members with a disability, gave me an insight into the additional needs that individuals and family carers have. I believe that the way we embrace all people, of all abilities and backgrounds can be judged as a marker of our society and I want to live in a community that gives equality to all, in all aspects of life’.
