Dignity Party MP savages the Government’s decision not to turn the tram east from KWS
The state’s sole MP representing disabled people has savaged the Government’s decision not to turn the tram east from King William Street along the $80 million track extension. Passengers from Glenelg wanting to travel to Adelaide’s east end will have to change trams at the railway station or travel to Hindmarsh and return, or get off at Rundle Mall and walk.
Dignity Party MP, Kelly Vincent has told Leon Byner for people with a disability not including a turn right as part of the upgrade is very short sighted:
“Department for Transport and Infrastructure tells us that the whole idea is to get people to go through the Mall to Gawler Place to help with trade and shopping and so on. Now while that’s a good luxury for some, for people like me who have good and bad days in terms of fatigue in muscular strength, or even for older people, that can be quite a trek.”
